I wasn't sure at first what style exactly I wanted to go for, so I thought that I would start off by trying a few more simplified styles that could work in animation, since I can draw these a lot faster and wanted to make sure that I had time to do all of the comic.
I also wanted to concentrate on softer edges, since this was the protagonist and she needs to look friendlier and less threatening than my villain. I used a few different elements from the superhero research I gathered in my pinterest board, and mixing and matching bits helped me to get rid of certain parts that wouldn't be practical early on, such as the cape and scarf thing.
I wanted to move further towards designs that use fashion and would be easier for someone in real life to make if they were to become a super hero. I added a Xena-like skirt for a bit extra armor but to also give the design a bit more of a powerful, less ordinary feel, because if the design is too casual, it won't stand out.
I went a bit more casual, trying to show off some kind of emblem on her chest a little bit more, but none of these feel or look like complete superhero designs, and wouldn't stand out, even if parts of them are practical.
